Positano Dreamin'
“ I’ve never known a more beautiful place to ever exist, and truly thought I was lost in some sort of Dream..”
It’s no secret that Italy is known for its natural beauty in many different forms, however Positano is by far one of those places you truly lose your breath with every turn of your head and truly can’t believe such a site of perfection exists in this world. I say time and time again that everybody should make Positano a priority on the bucket list. Views you’ll never soon forget, and memories that will surely last a lifetime.
Nic surprised me on a trip to Positano to meet with good friends and celebrate our recent engagement in Capri. It was pure bliss. Every bit of it. Celebrating our engagement in Positano was a dream come true, and I owe every minute of it to the man of my dreams. Hes always been a great planner, especially when it comes to travels, but every aspect of our trip was total perfection, from traveling the French & Italian coast, to our gorgeous stay & proposal In Capri (Blog Post here) down to our engagement celebration in Positano and ending in Tuscany. Nic really outdid himself and What an absolute dream it all really was…
When we arrived to Positano, we immediately reunited with my best friend Anish and her boyfriend (That flew in all the way from London) for a post engegement celebration. Having the chance to celebrate our engagement with one of my favorite people in the world made it all that much more special. I had known that we were going to Positano and would be meeting with Anisha when we got there, however, I had no idea that it would actually be us soon celebrating mine and Nic’s engagement. Nic is a sneaky one in all the best ways…
First stop and stay on our agenda was Le Sirenuse… I had heard so much about this place, and had been wanting to visit, and I believe Nic was onto me, because as soon as we arrived to Positano, that’s exactly where we were heading. I couldn’t believe it! Wow, I was truly impressed with how well he had really thought everything out. I truly felt the whole time that I was lost in some sort of dream!
……..And P.S. Don’t wake we up
We arrived just around mid day cocktail hour and made sure to start the night at the unbelievably beautiful and world famous Aldo’s Champagne bar & Seafood Grill to take in all the breathtaking oceanfront views. A booking at this fab spot is a MUST when visting Positano. This booking needed to be made a year in advance (Nic and his planning wins again) and all for obvious reason. It’s truly beautiful, offering some of the best views in all of Positano. It’s hands down one of my favorite hotels/restaurants in the entire world!
It’s honestly no trip to Positano without dining at the world renown LA Sponda Restaurant also located in Le Sireuse. Although I was most definitely not dressed to my standards for this dinner (Due to everything this trip being a surprise). What I thought was going to be a day strolling around Positano and taking in some local eats and views, to my surprise turned into one of the most beautiful dinners I had ever experienced. Although feeling completely under dressed in one of the most Posh restaurants in the entire world, I still wouldnt have changed it for anything, with such breathtaking views and natural beauty surrounding you, there is simply no time to realize just how underdressed you are (Nor care) . Like Le Sirenuse Champagne Bar, this dinner reservation had to be made a year in advance, and let me tell you, i would have waited another two to have the chance to take in these views. I have been to many beautiful locations and restaurants throughout my years, but La Sponda is hands down one of the most jaw dropping places I had ever dined at.
After our Cocktails at the champagne bar, and before our long awaited evening dinner overlooking the mediterranean, we knew we had to checkout all the hype at Franco’s for sunset views and cocktails, also a part of Le Sirenuse. and as expected, it did not dissapoint. It was an extremely windy day (hence the windblown hair ) but that didnt stop us from falling in love with this gem of a place. Franco’s is one of the most posh places with a trendy vibe you can find in all of Positano. Here you can take in a gorgeous sunset while listening to great beats and enjoying fresh cocktails and bar snacks. Franco’s QUICKLY became one of my favorite places in all of Positano. I think at this point, it’s pretty safe to say…Le Sirenuse has it all. In fact, it gives you very little reason to ever leave when in Positano.
After a gorgeous first day and night spent at Le Sirenuse, We decided to explore Positano that following morning taking in the timeless architecture, stunning beach, and jaw dropping extreme nature that surrounds us. We discovered that Positano, although in Summer (Definitely it’s high season) was in all actuality, a very quaint place. We decided to brunch at a more local cliffside restaurant to experience some of the more local eats and people. I discovered (through speaking with a few of the locals) that Positano is quite quiet throughout the year (aside from Summer). Most homes and establishments were passed down from generation to generation, making many locals the product of Positano’s culture and history. I couldnt help but to wonder if these locals knew exactly how lucky they truly were to wake up to such beauty every day, in fact, I even had to ask one of our waiters that very question. He chuckled as he replied “Oh, Yeah, we definitely know how lucky we are. This is why for generations, we never leave!” I couldn’t help but to smile and just imagine. I learned that many establishments are only open during Summer. It seems many family owned places make enough money during the summer months, that it allows the locals to close up shop and travel for the remainder of the year. WHAT A LIFE! It seems they wake up in one paradise just to travel to another season after season. It’s no wonder Italian’s gave definition to the phrase La Vita e Bella (Life is beautiful), and in Italy, It most certainly is.
For our last night in Positano, we decided to head to one of Positano’s oldest gems Chez Black for dinner.. Another famous posh spot nestled perfectly beach side, making it an ideal dinner booking after a day spent at the beach. I just LOVED the gorgeous gold and tourquoise nautical interior of this stunning restaurant. This place is known to fill up quick seeing that it’s a hot commodity in Positano during summer months so its important to make sure that you book in advance to ensure you get a booking. At Chez Black it’s not rare to be dining alongside famous actors and actresses while visiting. Definitely another place that’s high up on my list of Places I would recommend to visit while in Positano.
Positano, It’s been one unbelievably gorgeous stay and engagement celebration I will forever remember. Until next time….
